Job Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking 3 Flight Readiness Technician Inspectors (FRTI - Level C) for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
*This position is 100% ONSITE.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o 3+ years' experience in the aerospace industry
o 3+ years of experience in quality inspection and/or auditing
o 3+ years of experience working with Velocity and other 787 production applications
o Experience in a team environment
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs verification and inspection of flight component installation and operational functional testing of aircraft systems. Inspects and verifies troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and avionics systems to isolate mechanical and/or electrical/electronic faults and documents faulty components. Conducts inspection of pre-flight and post-flight checks and performs inspections of maintenance and modification prior to delivery. Supports documentation of identified problems during operation and testing of deliverable products. Verifies the accuracy of work performed and may conduct self-inspection. Assists in performing system & sub-system pre-delivery inspections and aircraft maintenance inspections in preparation for delivery. Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives. Plans, schedules and arranges own activities with the assistance of lead. Inspects, documents, and creates non-conformance records with minimal assistance. Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o FAA Airframe & Power Plant license
o 3+ years of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk experience
o 3+ years of 787 Program Experience
o 2+ years of Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience
o Proficient in REDARS, PSDS, and BAC specifications
o Proficient in all forms of NCR (Non-Conformance Record) and EPD (Emergent Process Document) generation (NC/NCR/RGEN/PU/SAT/SRR/PU or RGEN Revision etc.)
o Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
o 3+ year of flight line operations experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
o The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
o Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
o Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
o Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
o Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes
o Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
o Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
o Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
o On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
o Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
o Frequent walking on flat surfaces
o Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
o Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
o Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
o Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/st
o Occasional contact with metals
o Frequent exposure to noise
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.). Education must be accredited.
WORK HOURS:
All contractors hired must be available to work variable shifts based on business need, (1st and 2nd shift). Must be able to work any shift including days, nights and weekends.
