About the Role The CIS Associate reports to the Director of the Custom Income Strategies (CIS) team and assists senior investment analysts and portfolio managers on the team in day-to-day portfolio management. The team is seeking a highly motivated individual, with strong programming skills and a passion for Investments. About the Team CIS is an investment team within Loomis Sayles & Company that is dedicated to managing complex, customized fixed income mandates across insurance, pensions, and retail. The team is based in Boston, MA and is comprised of 7 individuals including the director of CIS, one investment director, one portfolio manager, one strategist and three senior analysts. Job Responsibilities Work as an integral member of the CIS team on portfolio management tasks Enhance or customize data reports used in portfolio management process Employ and enhance portfolio construction tools to create model portfolios in close collaboration with portfolio managers and strategists across investment teams Work closely with the portfolio specialists and traders on trade implementation Help monitor and run risk/attribution analysis on accounts and assist with the preparation of materials for various internal and external meetings Carry out special projects on an as-needed basis Contribute to achieve team’s objective of delivering high quality work in a collegial work environment Qualifications & Education Requirements BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or degree in a quantitatively driven and technical field 1–2 years of work experience in related fields desirable but not required; but will strongly consider relevant internship experience Strong interest in financial markets and investment management industry Strong technical, problem solving and programming skills are required. Strong command of Python, SQL, VBA, Excel required; MATLAB (desirable but not required) High attention to detail and ability to problem solve Self-driven, highly accountable, resourceful and independent thinker; Curious and entrepreneurial mindset Loomis Sayles is deeply committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce in which talented individuals can realize their full potential and contribute to our growth and success.
