Job Description
The SRO is a liaison for the school principals, faculty, and students. Assist other law enforcement officers with outside investigations that may impact students attending the school to which the SRO is assigned. SROs mentor students and will teach or arrange classes to increase awareness for personal safety. SROs serve as a positive role model to students and staff. They can assist with general problem solving, awareness, education, and emergency management.
SRO duties are expansive and involve developing relationships with students and the community to promote positive social behavior and safety in the school environment.
Perform day-to-day personal protective security functions.
Carry and operate weapons as specified in daily post and detail orders, or upon orders from your chain of command
Participate in site surveillance security preparations, and security assessments
Man the security post.
Perform ID checks
Assist faculty during pick-up and drop-off of students
Monitor CCTV
Deter, detect, deny, delay, and defend site
Private Security Services:
Security Officer, is responsible for protecting a person, organization or asset in the case of an incident. Their duties include monitoring a specific area, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift.
Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over
Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols
Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities
Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to management
Testing security systems and, if needed, operating X-ray machines and metal detectors
Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
Performing CPR or first aid when needed

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must possess a high school diploma or higher
Must currently possess a valid U.S. driver's license, TN Armed Guard License, Active Shooter Response training certificate
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of documented protective security experience.
A Service-2 or Member-4 copy of the DD-214 must be provided for applicants using U.S military service as applicable experience.
o Protective security experience is defined as a personal bodyguard, a designated security member of convoy or movement operations, or security services experience while actively carrying a firearm. Experience may only be gained by employment under a national/federal government, state government, city/municipal government, provincial or township government, or a government- licensed commercial entity that provides armed protective services. Experience as sworn law enforcement in the United States is always applicable.
Qualify with a handgun and requalifying as required by the Company
Quarterly weapons qualification, room entry training, and SUT (Small Unit Tactics)
No felony, DUI’s, or domestic violence conviction
Must have a good moral character
Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
Basic computer skills
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent sense of judgment
Can stay alert at all times
