Senior Database Administrator Description

We are searching for a talented Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience managing NoSQL databases.

You will be working closely with the customer to deliver exceptional support and automation while adhering to infrastructure-as-a-code standards. The selected candidate will oversee the management of MongoDB and other NoSQL databases across multiple settings, including production, development, and testing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and upkeep of NoSQL databases and distributed client/server systems
• Spearhead technical initiatives and oversee MongoDB platform maintenance
• Resolve data discrepancies and effectively manage data access with Developers/Users
• Implement and maintain high availability (HA) systems
• Employ performance analysis tools to monitor indicators like I/O, latency, QPS, and TPS
• Oversee the installation, setup, and maintenance of various NoSQL clusters
• Guarantee superb database performance for cost efficiency
• Architect and resolve issues in database backup and recovery systems
• Formulate and execute disaster recovery strategies for data retrieval at alternative locations

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years administering high-load NoSQL environments
• Expertise in MongoDB replication, sharding, scaling, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery
• Skills in performing backup and recovery operations
• Proficiency in spoken and written English at an upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Background in AWS services such as Elastic Compute, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, and ElastiCache
• Experience in MongoDB Atlas
• Qualifications in Linux configuration and performance enhancement
• Competency in automation and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Gitlab CI, and Team City
• Familiarity with CloudFormation and Python, with hands-on experience in using Terraform for managing on-prem and SaaS databases
