Veterinary Nursing Administrator
A leadership position in Veterinary Medical Center responsible for overseeing the veterinary nursing team and supporting clinical operations. This role involves strategic management, ensuring that nursing staff deliver high-quality care to animals while maintaining efficient and effective clinical support for veterinary teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership and Management: Directing, mentoring, and supervising veterinary nurse supervisors and their teams. Ensuring a well-trained, motivated, and effective team.
Clinical Operations Oversight: Ensuring that veterinary nursing services are delivered in line with best practices, regulations, and organizational goals. This includes overseeing patient care, medical protocols, and treatment plans.
Training and Development: Developing continuing education programs for staff, ensuring professional development, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of veterinary practices and technology.
Collaboration with Veterinary Teams: Working closely with veterinarians and other clinical staff to coordinate care, improve processes, and enhance patient outcomes.
Budget and Resource Management: Overseeing the allocation of resources, including staffing, equipment, and materials, ensuring efficient use of the clinic or hospital's budget.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and ethical guidelines in the provision of veterinary nursing care. Developing policies for patient care and clinical support operations.
Overall, the Veterinary Nurse Administrator plays a critical role in managing the nursing and patient care side of veterinary services, ensuring that high standards of care are maintained while supporting the development of staff and clinical processes.
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, or Veterinary Nursing; five to eight years of related an progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in financial or accounting practices, developing research projects, funding and grant practices and/or experience in Veterinary Nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Licensed Veterinary Technician with five to eight years of experience.
Experience in a veterinary teaching hospital.
Two to three years of prior management position in a hospital setting.

Monday - Friday with occasional evening and weekend shifts.
Lifting and carrying animals or equipment up to 50lbs individually or 150lbs as a team.
TB risk or have potential exposure to animal or specimens with Mycobacterium bovis.
Work with animals or unfixed animal tissue.
Wear a respirator (does not include paper dust mask worn for comfort).
