MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Storytelling: Conceptualize, research, and produce video stories that reflect the diverse communities and the historical significance of the Declaration of Independence.
  • Video Production: Shoot, edit, and produce video segments for broadcast, digital platforms, and social media, including WHYY's YouTube and television broadcast.
  • Editing: Craft compelling narratives through skillful editing, utilizing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Avid, or similar software.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with WHYY producers, directors, and the digital team to ensure cohesive storytelling across all platforms, particularly focusing on the Declaration's Journey project.
  • Content Strategy: Contribute to the development of WHYY's video content strategy, identifying opportunities to expand our reach and impact, particularly in partnership with MOAR and NCC.
  • Deadline Management: Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality across all produced content.

Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and a portfolio of work that demonstrates their storytelling and video production capabilities. Please include links to video projects you have produced, edited, and/or shot.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Avid, etc.), and familiarity with camera equipment, lighting, and sound.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Multimedia Skills: Experience with motion graphics, animation, or graphic design is a plus.

  • Public Media Experience: Previous experience working in public media, or a similar nonprofit environment is a plus.
