Compass Pain and Wellness is looking for an X-Ray Technician for our Portland location.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented X-Ray Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating radiographic equipment to capture high-quality X-ray images for diagnostic purposes, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

As an X-Ray Technician, you will work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to assist in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients. If you are passionate about patient care and have a strong understanding of radiology, we encourage you to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures on patients according to physician orders and protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients for X-ray exams, ensuring proper alignment and minimal discomfort.
  • Operate and maintain X-ray equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to discuss imaging results and provide assistance in any follow-up procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation safety protocols and using protective measures like lead aprons when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging results, patient history, and relevant documentation.
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure comfort and address any concerns.
  • Maintain clean and organized X-ray rooms and equipment.
  • Assist in patient scheduling and provide instructions regarding pre-exam preparation, if applicable.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up-to-date with new technologies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field (or equivalent training).
  • Licensing/Certification: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent required. State licensure may be required depending on location.
  • Experience: Previous experience as an X-ray Technician or in a related clinical role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of radiographic equipment, radiation safety standards, and anatomy.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to take precise and accurate images while following safety protocols.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with patients, medical staff, and radiologists in a professional manner.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to assist patients with mobility and stand or walk for extended periods.
